Cyanotype prints
A cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a rich, deep blue image using a light-sensitive solution. Cyanotype prints are made by coating paper or fabric with the solution, placing objects or negatives on the surface, and exposing it to ultraviolet (UV) light, such as sunlight. After exposure, the material is rinsed in water, revealing the final blue-toned image.
Each print is handmade and unique, often featuring subtle variations in tone and texture. Cyanotypes are valued for their vintage look and distinctive blue color.
In my work, I explore and experiment with this traditional process by combining my own photography with layered elements such as pressed flowers, text, and found objects.
